History: Tapattary Development Block was established on 29th May in the year 1992. this Block comprises 11 nos. of Gaon Panchayats with its Head Quarters at Tapattary only 2 KM distance from the North Salmara Sub-Divisional Head Quarters town Abhayapuri. The Block is under the administrative control of the Directorate of Panchayat & Rural Development, Assam. the Block is functioning as the implementing agency of the Rural Development Programmes since its inception. There is also the office of the Tapattary Anchalik Panchayat running simultaneously in the same premises of the Block.

Function: All Rural Development Schemes ( under Rural Development Department ) such as SGRY/ PMRY/IAY/SGSY / etc. Census Election Relief etc. and all function of Anchalik Panchayat and Gaon Panchayats.
